Our annual accounts, duly audited (2016), are published on the website together with the annual report (2017).

The audit for 2017 will be published in September, both from our headquarters and from ASF’s local counterpart in Tanzania. The receipt of funds requires strict control and justification for the use of funds and the execution of projects.

In addition to the audits, ASF has an accounting program with which to justify the situation of its accounts at all times. All economic procedures require the authorization of the Country Director and the Headquarters Management before execution, ordered by an administrator.


Being a Spanish foundation, ASF has to answer every year before the protectorate. In our case, the Ministry of Education, Culture and Sports (Register number 28-1.318.).

The Foundation has 12 members in its Board of Trustees, which is its highest governing body and which is chaired by Mr. Jaime Olmos Gibaja, who is accountable for the work on an annual basis. These members of the board do not receive any remuneration for their work, which guarantees their independence.

ASF also submits to a tax audit by the Tax Administration under the tax regime of Law 50/2002.

In addition, since 2008 we have been registered with the Spanish Agency for International Cooperation (AECID) for greater transparency.


ASF has a Code of Ethics and Conduct, translated into English and Swahili; in addition to its own Human Resources Manual.

The board ensures that compliance with these codes is strictly monitored advising and guiding the organisation’s workers, analyzing the most probable risks and proposing solutions to them.


The Foundation intends to collaborate in the care of the environment, always using a mutually-conducive approach in the projects that include this variable. This is in order to avoid environmental and climate risks, ensuring that the technologies that are put in place are suitable.
